  • Established a network of experienced researchers and key stakeholders in Uganda
  • Conducted state-of-the-art research in infectious diseases- creating an impressive publication list and influencing policy in Uganda and Africa
  • Established a formal link with the Uganda Ministry of Health and prioritize research in accordance to national interest
  • Worked with the Malaria Control Program to enable evidence-based national policy on antimalarial recommendation
  • Trained Ugandan and American students and health professionals in research and control, providing opportunities for international exposure and cross-cultural exchange
  • Built capacity for research throughout Uganda by training research teams, working with the Ministry of Health, including building laboratory capacity
  • Transferred new laboratory technology to Uganda through building infrastructure, providing equipment and expert training
